Beginning & Intermediate students

All children can learn to draw. It is a teachable skill, much like reading or music. Beginning students are taught five fundamental skills that will enable them to draw anything that interests them. They will explore color through oil pastels, blendable markers, pencil, colored pencil and watercolor crayons. Class size is limited to 12 students so everyone gets plenty of attention. Intermediate students continue to gain confidence in their drawing skills and learn new techniques for watercolor painting, pastels, acrylic painting, charcoal, and pen and ink.

The advanced class learns color theory through a series of exercises designed to develop their knowledge and confidence with color mixing. This class works independently on many projects, primarily in acrylic, watercolor, pastel and colored pencil, charcoal, and pen and ink. These students attend class twice a week. Tuition for this class is $127.50 per month.

Payment: Children's classes
Payment for children's classes is due the first class of each month. Tuition is $75.00 per month for the Beginning class and $75.00 per month for the Beginning/Intermediate class. Tuition is $85.00 per month for the Intermediate class. Checks should be made payable to The Sketch Pad Art Studio - Plainfield. To register for a children's class, a $75.00 supply fee must accompany the registration form. Children may come into the studio ten minutes before their class begins.

Make up classes
If a regularly scheduled children’s class is missed, your student may attend a makeup class. There is no charge, but pre registration is required. A make up class will be held the last Saturday of each month from 10:00am-11:30 for students in the Tuesday , Wednesday and Thursday classes.
