Classes begin Tuesday, September 2nd and run through May 27, 2009. Tuition is due the first class of each month.

Colleen Carter will be teaching a two week (four classes) drawing class for adults based on the book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, by Betty Edwards. This is a method that teaches 4 fundamental skills of drawing: the perception of edges, negative and positive spaces, relationships of lines, and light and shadow. Learning and practicing these skills will greatly improve your ability to draw any subject matter. Demonstrations, individual attention and plenty of studio time will ensure that beginners, as well as experienced artists, will develop their skills.

Supplies: Derwent Graphic soft sketching set or similar set of 12 sketching pencils (approximately $10) and a kneaded eraser. All other supplies will be provided.

Come join us for 5 fun days of crafts that will include acrylic painting on rocks, paper-mache, clay projects and more. Each week of camp features different craft projects, so attend one or attend all four. Space is available for 12 students. Camp is open to Sketch Pad students and newcomers, so consider attending the camp with a friend! We’ll have a great time!

Payment for children's classes is due the first class of each month. Tuition is $75.00 per month for the Beginning class and $75.00 per month for the Beginning/Intermediate class. Tuition is $85.00 per month for the Intermediate class. Checks should be made payable to The Sketch Pad Art Studio - Plainfield. To register for a children's class, a $75.00 supply fee must accompany the registration form. Children may come into the studio ten minutes before their class begins.

$50.00 is due at the time of registration with the remainder due the first day of camp. Checks should be made payable to The Sketch Pad Art Studio.

For adult short term classes. $50.00 is due at the time of registration with the balance due the first class of the session. Checks should be made payable to The Sketch Pad Art Studio. Supply lists will be determined by the instructors and mailed to registered students.

Classes will be held according to the 2008-2009 schedule unless canceled due to snow. The Sketch Pad Art Studio will close due to snow if the Avon School District is closed. This includes children’s classes as well as adult classes and workshops. Classes missed due to snow closures will be rescheduled.

If a regularly scheduled children’s class is missed, your student may attend a makeup class. There is no charge, but pre registration is required. A make up class will be held the last Saturday of each month from 10:00am-11:30 for students in the Tuesday , Wednesday and Thursday classes.
